Who awards my final qualifications? Master of Business Administration (MBA) Master of Professional Finance & Banking (MPFB) Your final degree is awarded by Edith Cowan University (Australia) http://www.ecu.edu.au/. The degree awarded is same as the one awarded at main campus in Australia. Are the subjects I study relevant in the Indian scenario? All the subjects you study in the course have been drafted by senior academicians in India, Australia, the UK . Hence we have ensured that all important concepts related to Indian economy have been included. The syllabus is constantly updated to incorporate the requirements of industry and commerce. What is the relationship between BMA & BIM & ECU ? This is a very unique partnership. BMA provides the infrastructure, student welfare, academic and administrative support. Student's admission process is conducted by the respective institution. For the selected students the programme is delivered by BMA using the faculty recommended by the respective partner institutions. Faculties are selected by the respective partner institution guided by their quality control mechanisms. Will your qualification be recognized in India? Yes. ECU - ECU is the member of ACU (AIU - Association of Indian Universities - is also a member of ACU) within this group all universities mutually recognize each other's qualifications. ECU is a government funded university established by an Act of Parliament in Australia. Will my degree look different and be more valuable if I go abroad to study? The status of your degree is exactly the same as those awarded overseas. The only difference is you are not paying international fees and higher living costs. For eg : MBA at ECU - A$ 25,000 - Tuition fees - A$ 24,000 - Accommodation & living expenses Total - A$ 49,000 - ( Approx. Rs. 17.00 lakhs) The same degree in India at BMA wiIl cost you Rs.5.75 lakhs (all inclusive) This represents savings of 65%. Is the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved mandatory for any programme? AICTE is a peak body which ensures that the institutions awarding diplomas have the appropriate academic and administrative measures to deliver quality programmes. BMA's quality is assured by its local and international partnerships. The proof of quality is the confidence employers show in our graduates. How are job placements dealt with at BMA? Placement is a by-product of the skills of the students. Our academics have industrial experience and hence, the subjects are taught with industrial relevance. Non academic skills are taught by a team of professionals. They are aimed at preparing our graduates for job interviews and subsequent employment. We have our professional job placement cell whose members continuously interact with industry. BMA students graduate at times of the year when many other B-schools don't -February, April and October, making it attractive with employers for year-round recruitment. Placements at BMA are on campus and in company depending on the needs of the employers concerned. Our students are expected to fulfill the placement criteria - .minimum average grade B across all subjects, with 90% attendance to be eligible for placements. Placements will only be offered after the students complete the final examinations and the industry placement, where required. The programmes are residential at BMA. Can I study off-campus? The primary reason for studying on-campus are :- a) You stay with your peer group and can participate in after class discussions, group study etc., b) You are transported to and from BMA so that classes can start and finish any time if you are be a day scholar, then it is very important that you assure us of your ability to reach the college on time throughout your course. Can I transfer my credits to study at ECU in Australia? Yes, after the successful completion of 2nd term, students can continue the last term in ECU if they so wish, but the duration of the course will be 8 months longer instead of the 4 months in India. Your fees will also be different (International fees, currently A$6500 per semester). Is an Australian 15 months Masters Degree as recognized as the two years Indian requirement? Traditionally all British & Australian Universities have been offering one year taught Masters programmes which are recognized worldwide. What is important is that the same level of content is covered as in the two year qualification. In fact we claim that the ECU MBA is a more rigorous programme than its Indian equivalent. You will learn to work more independently and to think more logically and laterally than you would do with a standard Indian MBA. It is also true that some Indian B Schools are now offering one year programmes. For example ISB, GLIM, ICFAI among others. What is difference between a general MBA and a specialist MBA? The MBA was developed as a general management qualification for engineers to be able to gain management skills. Our specialist MBA programmes recognizes that many business and commerce students want to extend their knowledge at postgraduate level. Increasingly employers look for specialist skills when they are employing MBA graduates. Will my MBA qualify me for further studies at Ph.D level? Yes, your ECU MBA is internationally recognized. You could undertake further research in almost any English speaking country. Will I have to undertake research to complete my post graduate degree at BMA/ECU? No, our courses are all taught Masters programmes. That said, .you will be expected to learn independent study and research skills in all of your taught programmes. Will I need to choose my specialization within my MBA at the outset of my course? No you can plan during your first semester and make your decision at the beginning of the second semester. Why should I choose a Masters course in Finance and Banking? As the economy of India develops so does the demand for financial and banking services. There are very few courses of this kind in India, while the number of job opportunities is growing exponentially. As per the study 35% students from B- Schools are taken in the Banking and Finance sector followed by 22 % in IT sector.
