Efendiyeva Mehriban: I was born in Baku, Azebaijan Republic. I attended Baku State Art School named A. Azimzadeh, and Moscow Animated cartoon school of Soyuz Multfilm. I have worked on many Azerbaijan animated cartoons as a graphic animator. Since 1991, I have worked at the Movies Center of Azerbaijan as a costume. Paricipating in many creative fields, I have exhibited my collections of dresses and other works as an artist. These have been displayed in many galleries not only at Azerbaijan Republic but also other countries. Artist Statement I have enjoyed painting since I widly opened my eyes to this fantastic world. When I was 5 years old, I felt an unusual feeling of being close to God, Space, and Universe. That mystic sense is the major challenge of inspiration, which leads me to imagination to put everything from subconsciousness to the consciousness on paper. Usually nice music can drive me up, and I may lose the sense of the reality. I like graphic art , oil and acrylic painting. I love color, and that is my primary tool of expression. I like to use color to highten the emotion of the natural world. Also unusual combinations of symbols, figures, and lines are the major characteristics that my art works have in common. I use color in abstract pieces to show balance, transformation, and interaction of energies. As inner and outer nature meet, a single object may ignite a powerful internal reaction. Whether the finished piece is a highly realistic depiction or completely abstract. My style of painting is also my point of view. Through this, spirit and matter meet. Every liitle point is imbued with energy, and a sense of the mystery and sacredness I find in the World and Universe. I believe in the healing power of creativity. It has been proven that art can change ones psychological state and perception. I greatly hope that people feel what I put into and through my art, and that they are moved to a heightened awareness of the world. Mery.
